In times of recession...

So, at home, me and my siblings have this insider. Every time my mom is frugal about anything, or wont get them something, or plain old doesn't want to do something she always says "we are in the plan of recession" lol. its basically her excuse to be stingy with us lol. it has stuck and now we say it at least once a day lol. Randomly that gave me an idea for a post lol. I know that makeup gets expensive, and maybe people like me(that actually want to do it professionally) don't mind the constant spending on it, but i know that if i didn't want to do makeup free lance i would HATE to have to cough up so much money on it. I'm gonna do a break down on what you guys can go lower in price with, and what is worth coughing up big bucks for. I hope this post helps that one person out there that wont wear makeup because she/he thinks they cant afford MAC, MUFE, NARS, ETC.

WHAT IS WORTH SPENDING HARD CASH ON?
The number one thing you want to get your moneys worth on is foundation, concealer(regular + under eye), and face powders. There are many reasons why:
  • you can actually try the higher end ones out at the makeup counters; etc; and you can have someone help you get your exact color.
  • better color quality, and better ingredients
  • blends in smoother for a more flawless finish
  • more color options
  • better for your skin

WHAT CAN YOU GO TO THE CHEAPER END FOR?

Eye shadows, blush, lip sticks, lip glosses, some primers, eyeliners, mascaras, etc; these things can be found for a lower price without having to compromise on quality. There are many different brands out there that offer good color payoff when it comes to their products, without having to go over on your makeup budget!

WHATS UP TO YOU?

Personally, i think that whether you want to spend alot of a little on brushes is completely up to you. There is no wrong or right way to shop for brushes, and to apply makeup. Personally i tend to go with higher end brushes for my face, and lower end ones for eyeshadow. When you apply your face products you want to make sure you use a good quality brush that will give you that airbrushed, flawless finish. As for eye shadows, those depend more on the color payoff of the actual eyeshadow, more than the quality of the brush. Its obvious that as with everything in life, you will get what you pay for. You cant expect a mac brush to work as well as a drug store brush. Use your budget to determine how much you can spend, and go with that. If you are planning on using your brushes everyday, or if you want to enter the makeup artistry world, i suggest you spend good cash on your brushes because that way you will have to replace them less often, and they will last longer.
