4 for 1

so, i went to target for something RANDOM; some like cookies or something weird like that and like always i stopped by the cosmetics section just to take a peep. i walked by the mascaras; and i remembered that i was almost out of my lash blast; so i picked up one(usually around seven dollars). after that i went over to the nail polish section and did my thing; on my way to the register i run into a wall with a lash blast mascara display and what did i see? THIS!! a pack of two freaking lash blast mascaras for under 5 bucks. now at this time im doing a double take....im like why would i get this one little lonely mascara when i can get two for half the price? i thought i was seeing things haha i could not believe this crap. so duh, i dropped the one pack and got this. they also had the pink bottle which is a shimmering mascara!! yummy. its not like bedazzled or anything haha; just the right amount of shimmer for that wet lashes look. so yes i got 4 mascaras for the price of ONE. thats a great day!!

WOW!!!!!!!

the perfect lipsticks!!

i never really gave Revlon lipsticks a fair chance; but after this im FOR SURE going to be getting a couple more colors. i've been looking for the perfect shade of baby pink and let me tell you guys i FOUND IT!! i also found my perfect shade for nude lips. these two colors are FABOOSH!!

NEW opi

a really cute summer color; its a peachy coral: Malaysian mist by opi

NEW pure ice

i actually ended up going back to get a fourth color; they had so many that i limited myself to just 3; but i couldn't leave the last one alone. its a dark grey color called "kiss me here". the 3 pictured above are(from left to right) free spirit; Jamaica me crazy; and wild thing. these all look great. im gonna swatch all later.

NEW china glaze

left: awakening. a sexy purple color with a gold shine. right: salsa. a bright sexy pinup red

New Orly Polish

got these two lovely additions to my collection from ORLY. the one on the right is a glittery polish that you can wear alone; or on top of another color to enhance it up a little. its called shine on crazy diamond. the one on the left is this beauty!!
its as cool as it looks. a sort of shine less metallic color. looks almost like chalk board but with a grey shadow to it. it looks great!! a little hard to get off; but if you get good nail polish remover that isn't a problem. its called iron butterfly and its a great buy. not as cool as the matte black; but surely up there.

New Essies to my collection

it took me about an hour to get these lol. they were so close in color that i couldn't decide whether to get both; or to get two colors that were very different. in the end i loved them both way too much to let one go; so here they are. left color is secret stash; the lighter pink on the right is mod squad.

new polishes

finally decided to get some sally xtreme wears; never tried them before. the colors are(left to right) Emerald City; Blue it; Blue me away.

Nail art polishes

these are the alternatives if you dont like the acrylic paint idea!! stripe rites(bottom picture) are great =] they come in a variety of colors and go on real smooth. the colors are bold and they usually last a good couple days. the top ones are by KISS; these come in a bigger variety being that they have pastel colors and such. the kiss colors are GORGEOUS!! and they remind me of summer/spring. stripe rites have more solid and common colors. non the less; these brands are both great!! and worth the buy. i forget how much the stripe rites are; but i know the kiss ones are 5.00 a piece. stripe rite must be somewhere around there too. i got both brands at two different beauty supplies; but I'm sure they have different ones everywhere.

Clear lip liner

lip liner gets a bad reputation because when we hear "lip liner" we think of those girls with red lipstick and black lip liner. horrible. thing is that lip liner is suppose to either match your lipstick or be a shade; or the most two off. lip liner is essential because it keeps lipstick from running beyond your natural lip line. think of it as the walls of a pool; keeps all the water in. with so many lipstick shades; its hard to get a pencil in every color; or to find one in the exact shade. so, try this instead. CLEAR LIP LINER!! goes on clear, serves the same purpose and no harsh lip line. this is very important for shades that are very different than your skin tone as those are more noticeable when they spread beyond your lip line.

Nail Polish Inventory

So, a popular problem i have is that i buy 3-4 polishes at a time; and i tend to put them away and forget all about them. also sometimes when i buy them i already have nail polish on, so i cant always try them on. and last but not least i hate trying on 20 different shades before finding the one i want to keep on. its annoying and not to mention dark polishes stain your nails and are harder to take off. while i was at the beauty supply buying nail polish i noticed their little device to try on polishes(which is a nail tip attached to a stick that you hold on top of your nail); that gave me an idea. i bought a case of nail tips!! which is the nail you glue on top of your nail when doing acrylic extensions. i paint them with the color and keep them for inventory. i can try them on right over my nail! i bought Popsicles sticks and glue the nail to them and you can write the name of the polish right on that. i also use the tips to practice my nail art. also you can use them to keep track of the designs that you've done and liked and keep them as a reference like they do at nail salons.

Acrylic Nail Art

doesn't nail art just look lovely sometimes? okay maybe ALL THE TIME. wait i take that back, over doing the nail art looks a bit tacky; but tasteful nail art is great. lately i ran into the problem that i had so many ideas for nail art but not enough colors to chose from when it came to those nail art polishes with the little thin wands. i thought long and hard; and since i am a graphic design...i have TONS of acrylic paint around my house from school and such. so i took one of my painting brushes and started doing something funky on my nail(i looked up on the Internet if this was safe for my nails first; and it is!! and always wear a base coat because it helps protect your nail from the pigment in polishes/paint!!) and i left it on for a couple days to see if it would last. couple days later...it still looked FAB. so this is my new trick for you guys!! polishes are sometimes hard to manipulate and you end up making a mess; acrylic paint comes right off with a wet napkin and wont disturb your base nail polish; and when your done seal it with some clear polish so it lasts longer. as far as brushes go; you can buy acrylic brushes; or they have nail art brushes at beauty supplies. you can get acrylic paint at pretty much any arts and craft store, or walmart. here are so colors i have lying around:

these four are "shiny" which means exactly as it sounds; they have a little more shine to them; this is more important for big details; but in the end a top shine coat of nail polish does the trick even if you dont get the shiny ones.
black; white; silver; and gold. have to have the metallics; and white and black are essential.
these are more varied colors; different shades; and just colors i thought were very pretty. the back ones are more fall/winter colors. and the front ones are spring/summer. i also have the primary colors so i can mix my own colors instead of having to buy every single color paint. again, you can get these at arts and craft store; walmart; i dont think i've seen any at target, but if im wrong then please correct me. go wild with these!! they pretty much have every shade and color you could possibly want and desire.
and last but not least; the neon colors which are greattttt on black nails...and pretty much on everything. these paints are super fun, they dry fast, dont smudge, and easier to manipulate with a brush than nail polish is. and not to mention you can try over and over again; all you need is a wet napkin; you CANT BEAT THAT!!

feb favs!

Orly and OPI are my addiction. i FINALLY got my black matte by opi from sephora after they gave me the wrong one. they gave me a regular black polish; and i was so upset when i got home super excited to try it on. womp womp. but even though it was opened they refunded me and it so happened that they had one more lying around that day; so i got my matte polish, about time!! i LOVESSSS IT. no, you dont understand, i LOVE this nail polish. like....adore it. these two have for sure been on my repeat list, specially the caramel brown. the picture below is just one coat so it looks eghhhh but trust me one more coat and these two colors are sex on a stick!

just goes great with my skin tone i think. makes my toes look too sexy for my shirt; they are yellow right now, but im thinking about going back to my latte brown tomorrow because i truly adore it.

new brushes

3 great new brushes added to my collection; this is proof that you don't need to spend tons of money for good brushes. i was at target and ran into these three that i sorta kinda needed/really wanted!! starting from the left; first one is an all around brush; you can pretty much use it to blend, apply shadow, or for the crease. its rounded and pointed so you can really get in that crease and be precise with color. must have! second is basically the same thing, but a little bigger and thicker. last but not least a concealer/creme shadow brush which i was desperate for. all around 6 dollars a piece and work great for the price.

best eye makeup remover!!

GOODBYE FACE WIPES!!! im done with you!! i found this and i love itttt. face wipes are kinda greasy and can irritate your eyes; and it would always take me forever to get MAC makeup off because the eyeshadow base i use was so good; but this gets rid of eye make up in literally one swipe. and not to mention its oil free and no funky smell. try this ladies; literally one cotton ball gets rid of TONS of makeup.

Heat protector is a must!!

if you flat iron your hair on a daily basis or blow dry is, this product is a MUST!! i've been using my flat iron for years without anything besides shine serum on my hair and not too long ago i started to notice that my hair was getting thinner and really light. i use to have pitch black hair and ever since i met mr flat iron that went out the window. girls its never good to apply direct heat to your hair without some sort of protector so, i finally gave in and when and got one since i know flat irons(as good as they are) still cause damage if you use them frequently. i read through a couple reviews for different brands but people seemed to worship this chi one so i went out and got it. i think i payed around 13 - 15 bucks for it; but WELL WORTH the money. not only does it make your hair smell great; which is a plus since flat iron hair smells awful! but it leaves your hair SUPER shiny and nice. this product will for SURE be a re-buy and i am promising to not do anything heat related to my hair without it!!
